| Formula 1 Grand Prix Podium Picker Challenge |
Thanks to Larry Andrews for creating this game and handing it off to me to run. I'll create a mini-database and upload the results in HTML to keep track of.
The basics of the game is simple. Pick who will come in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place for each Formula 1 Grand Prix race throughout each year.
Prize? Bragging rights on the message boards! :) Actually you know what would be cool?? $olo Buck$ as a prize. Perhaps a free weekend to a practice/champ event the following year? I'll run it by the powers that be.
So here are the rules:
1. Picks must be in by no later than the start time of qualifying. Start times may vary, so I'll post what the deadline is on each thread on the message board per race.
2. You can make changes to your posts via the "edit" button, but the website timestamps your changes so if you make a change AFTER the deadline you're disqualified. And there's no way to go back and see what you had prior, so remember that your post times are visible to everyone. The clock does not lie :)
3. Podium positions are 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, as that's how many drivers are on the physical podium after each race.
4. 5 points - Picked the driver in the correct podium position
5. 2 points - Picked the driver in the wrong podium position
6. 10 bonus points - Trifecta/hat-trick for getting all 3 drivers in their correct podium positions.
7. 10 bonus points - For any contestant that makes an outrageous pick (i.e. Takuma Sato from Super Aguri Honda winning at Monaco). This is SOLELY at the discretion of me! (aka Bernie Eccelstone) :)
If you happen to forget to put in your picks for a race, the new rule is that I'll just re-use the picks from the previous race, that way there's no worry. So I'll add new contestants as they post. So if you're new, remind me in your post.
